Due to the sensitive nature of rescue work some of our horses are not listed on our website. Occasionally there are cases where photo ID will be requested in the beginning phases of adoption inquiries to ensure safe placement of our donkeys and mules.
Please note that we are not a foster based rescue and all of our animals are housed onsite at our beautiful farm in Howell, MI.
If you are interested in sponsoring or adopting any of the animals below, please contact us today!
FRED
Breed: Mule Sex: Gelding Age: 23 Height: 10.0hh Color: Brown
Adoption Fee: $350
Looking for a sweet, dependable companion for your hobby farm? Fred, the charming mini mule, could be your new best friend!
Why Fred?
Great for a Dry Lot: No grassy pastures for this little guy! Fred requires a dry lot, making him the ideal fit for a low-maintenance farm. He is a very easy keeper and being out on grass puts him at risk of laminitis.
Friendly with Pasture Mates: Fred gets along well with his fellow farm animals and is easygoing in the herd. He has been with goats, ponies, mules and donkeys and tries his best to stay out of the pasture drama.
Treat Lover: While he is not a snuggly mule and enjoys his space, he will happily come up to you for a low-sugar treat.
Easy Vet and Farrier Handling: As he is stand-offish when approached, we have our little routine when catching him. Fred is moved to an enclosed run-in for easier catching, and once he's caught, he's an absolute gem for the vet, farrier, and grooming sessions. He stands patiently and is well-mannered.
Fred is hoping to find a loving family of his own who will give him the care and attention he deserves. With the right home, Fred will thrive and become the perfect companion for your farm!
VIXIE
Breed: Mule Sex: Mare Age: 10 Height: 14.2hh Color: Chestnut
Adoption Fee: $500
Update 12/11/24
Vixie... We wish we had more to say about this clever and shy girl. We have struggled getting to know her, as she would rather be with her horsey friends than spend time with us!
She is curious and polite when we have interacted and takes treats eagerly! She will even alow a lead rope to be attached to her halter and follow you for a few steps! However, when she is done with her training session, she is done and will quickly bolt in any direction she can!
With that said, she will need a highly skilled trainer and mule lover (if you know, you know...) to help her become the best equine citizen she can be! Stay tuned for Vixie updates, or please reach out if you are up for the challenge!
