Due to the sensitive nature of rescue work some of our horses are not listed on our website. Occasionally there are cases where photo ID will be requested in the beginning phases of adoption inquiries to ensure safe placement of our horses.
Please note that we are not a foster based rescue and all of our animals are housed onsite at our beautiful farm in Howell, MI.

BELINA
Breed: Andalusian Sex: Mare Age: 25 Height: 16.0hh Color: Grey

Belina is Horses Haven's very own unicorn. Her unique color is sure to catch everyones eye. This sweet mare is generally well behaved and enjoys attention. She has mild navicular but is pasture sound.
Idealy, she would love a retirement home where she can soak up all the love and attention she wants. She does best only pastured with mares as the boys tend to make her a little too frisky!
She is up to date on all farrier, vet and dental care. Belina is eager to have a fairy tale ending and can't wait to meet the family to make her dreams come true!
BEN
Breed: Quarter Horse Sex: Gelding Age: 20 Height: 16.0hh (approx) Color: Chestnut
Adoption Fee: $350
Ben is a sweet and social guy who has a kind personality and loves attention. He is fun and curious and loves his people. He has shown us good manners for leading, handling, grooming, and standing for the farrier.
He has no training under saddle and requires light maintenance to be comfortable, as well as needing soaked food as he is a choke risk, so at this point he would be companion only. Ben gets along with anyone, and is currently pastured outside 24/7 with a herd of geldings.
He is a confident horse with a big personality, and would be best suited for a home with a confident handler.
CINNAMON & KENZIE
Breed: Quarter Horses Sex: Mares Age: 32 and 28 Height: 14.1hh Color: Red Roan and Chestnut

Meet Cinnamon and Kenzie, they are a bonded pair of sweet older mares, who both have kind and quiet personalities.
Cinnamon is a smart, sweet, and flashy lady who is social and loves her people, and she is aptly named as her roan coloring looks like cinnamon. Kenzie is sweet but a bit on the shy side, and can take a minute to warm up to you, but is a sweet and gentle mare once you win her over.
Cinnamon and Kenzie have been together for their entire lives, as they are 32 and 28 years old, so for this reason they would have to be adopted as a pair. They have both shown good manners for leading, handling, and grooming, as well as standing for the vet and farrier. They have no training under saddle, so they would require a companion only home. These lovely mares are looking for someone to open their farm to give them a quiet place to live out the rest of their days.

DANI
Breed: Arabian Sex: Mare Age: 26 Height: 14.3hh Color: Dark Bay

Dani is a beautiful older mare looking for a retirement home. We have not fully evaluated her training but we do know that she will need an experienced handler on the ground. Dani doesn't enjoy change and can be a handful when stressed.
Dani is up to date on all her medical and farrier needs.
At this time she is only being offered as a companion.
DENNY
Breed: Tennessee Walking Horse Sex: Gelding Age: 25 Height: 15.2hh Color: Black

Denny is a sweet and sensible Tennessee Walking Horse. He is gaited, and does have a riding history. We did do a quick riding evaluation, and he did accept a rider, but was a little stressy in our indoor arena. He might enjoy a casual property ride occasionally, but we feel that at his age he would really love a companion home!
He does well in his older herd of geldings, and seems to be low drama and middle of the pecking order. He is part of our volunteer groom team, and enjoys any attention he can get! Denny is up to date on all medical, farrier and dental needs. He is just waiting to find his perfect home!
FLICKA

If you are looking for a kind, sweet, and confident mare to go on adventures with, Flicka is your girl. Flicka is a sweet and gentle older mare who has proven herself to be kind and well-mannered. She is an old soul and prefers a quiet life but still has lots left to give.
She has shown us good manners for leading and handling, as well as for standing for the vet and farrier. Flicka has previous training under saddle and has the potential to be a light-riding trail horse. She currently lives outside and can be pastured with mares or geldings.
We are still getting to know this little gem of a horse, so stay tuned for updates as she progresses in her training!

Meet Icon, the sweet Quarter Horse gelding with a heart of gold! Icon’s journey with us has been truly heartwarming. Not too long ago, he was quite worried about human contact, but with patience and care, he’s blossomed into a more confident horse.
Now, we’re on the lookout for the perfect retirement home for Icon, with experienced and kind horse people, who will continue to remind him how to be a good equine citizen and where he can be a cherished companion to other horses. Out in the pasture he is a wonderful buddy and loves to play halter tag with his friends. He is happy with 24/7 turn out but he is also fine in a stall.
Come meet him, and you’ll see the incredible transformation he’s undergone and the bright future he’s ready to embrace alongside his new companions.
KYLIE
Breed: Grade Sex: Mare Age: 25 Height: 15.1hh Color: Chestnut

Kylie is a sweet mare that has been with us for a little over a year. We have been slowly getting to know her and making sure her health is in order. She has enjoyed the company of other mares while with us, but can get rather attached if her best gal pals have to leave. She does have some navicular changes but has been pasture sound without needing shoes.
Kylie does have cushings and requires Prascend daily. As far as food goes, she is a very easy keeper and could actually stand to lose a few pounds! She enjoys being groomed and going for in hand walks. She is up to date on all of her medical/dental/farrier needs, all that is left is for Kylie to meet her new forever family!
LEO
Breed: Appendix Quarter Horse Sex: Gelding Age: 27 Height: 15.2hh Color: Bay

This old soul is on the hunt for his forever home!
Leo is a buddy like no other! He bonds strongly to his pasture mates and does not like being separated. He is looking for a home as a companion horse only where he can spend his days being the good friend that he is!
As long as Leo gets to remain in his pasture with a friend, he is very mellow and easy to handle. He enjoys being groomed and is well behaved. Leo is a very friendly boy who loves to socialize.
Leo is up to date with all medical, dental and farrier needs.
MAVERICK
Breed: Thoroughbred Sex: Gelding Age: 23 Height: 15.3hh Color: Bay

Meet Maverick, a remarkable off-track Thoroughbred whose journey has taken him from the racetrack to a well-deserved retirement. During his evaluation for riding the vets found soreness in his SI area which was causing him to be unsound while carrying a rider. He received SI injections however it was not enough to allow him to continue his riding career. He is now enjoying life as a very handsome pasture ornament.
While Maverick may be a bit mouthy at times, his playful nature only adds to his charm. Beneath his mischievous antics lies a heart of gold, brimming with affection for those who show him kindness.
Easy to handle and eager to please, Maverick thrives on human and equine interaction. Whether it's a gentle scratch behind the ears or a leisurely stroll through the pasture, he delights in the simple pleasures of life.

MEADOW

Meadow is a stunning well-mannered warmblood-cross mare. She is as sweet and lovable as she is talented, with lots of life experiences under her belt. Meadow has a history of being ridden, but due to soundness issues under saddle she is now seeking a new role as a companion horse able to offer an occasional pony ride. She is suspected to have PSSM and has responded well with easy management and the proper diet. Meadow is pasture sound with maintenance, including front shoes – though she may not need shoes in the future. Whether it’s being cross-tied, single tied, or stalled, Meadow is well-behaved, easy to handle and has excelled as a part of our companion groom team. She’s the lead matriarch of the herd and is happy to live outside 24/7 or come into a stall at night—whatever suits her future home best!
Meadow is truly an amazing mare with a kind heart who would make someone a lovely companion. At this time, she would be best suited for an intermediate horse handler, comfortable with managing her condition with proper diet and maintenance. We can't wait for you to meet this gorgeous mare!
PHOEBE

Meet Reddington, the kind-hearted and gentle horse who has quickly become a farm favorite! With his calm and confident nature, Reddington has shown impeccable manners in leading, handling, grooming, and standing for the vet and farrier. Despite coming to us with a shoulder injury that made lifting his front feet a challenge, he has steadily worked through his rehabilitation program and made excellent progress towards healing. He is now comfortable enough to pick up all of his feet for the farrier.
Due to his previous injury Reddington is best suited as a companion but wouldn’t mind an occasional pony ride. He is pasture sound with maintenance, and enjoys spending his days out in the field, socializing with others, and soaking up love and attention.
Reddington has proven to be incredibly loving and respectful, always appreciating the extra attention from our volunteer groom team. His sweet personality shines through, and he’s a true joy to be around.

THUNDER

Wendy is a stocky girl in search of a new pasture to call home! We do not have a lot of information on her past but she has proved to be a good equine citizen thus far. She stands for the farrier and enjoys being groomed. Our trainers concluded that she did not seem to have much if any under saddle training but she has no restrictions that we are aware of.
Wendy is up to date on all of her medical, dental and farrier needs. She does require a daily dose of Prascend. All that is left is for Wendy to find her new home!
