ATTICUS
Breed:  Quarter Horse          Sex: Gelding          Age: 6          Height: 14.3hh          Color: Chestnut
Adoption Fee: $350

If you like your Quarter Horse with some junk in the trunk, Atticus is your guy! He is extremely smart, good looking and playful, so much so that he may play with you like a pasture mate. That said, in his time with us he has used his smarts to make great improvements on learning how to live in this human world. He had OCD surgery back in April 2023 and recovered very well.  He has early navicular and can have off days.  He is currently under veterinary evaluation to determine if he is a good candidate for riding and may be serviceably sound for flat work only in the future. Atticus stands well for the farrier, is good for the vet, loads and trailers well, is good in the cross ties for and enjoys doing anything with people.

At this time, Atticus is being offered as a companion horse only due to inconsistent soundness.

BELINA
Breed:  Andalusian          Sex: Mare          Age: 24          Height: 16.0hh          Color: Grey
Adoption Fee: $350

Belina is Horses' Haven's very own unicorn. Her unique color is sure to catch everyones eye. This sweet mare is generally well behaved, and enjoys attention. She has done best with shoes as her soundness exam revealed navicular during her x-rays.

She is pasture sound and has even started working with our trainers under saddle and lunging. She does not appear to know much under saddle, but we will update her bio as we learn more about her training.

Idealy, she would love a retirement home where she can soak up all the love and attention she wants. She does best only pastured with mares as the boys tend to make her a little too frisky! She is up to date on all farrier, vet and dental care.

Belina is eager to have a fairytale ending and can't wait to meet the family to make her dreams come true!

BRAYTON
Breed:  Appendix Quarter Horse          Sex: Gelding          Age: 20          Height: 15.2hh          Color: Grey
Adoption Fee: $350

Brayton is a very well behaved equine citizen and is generally very easy to handle and work around. He is a volunteer favorite due to his sweet personality. He is a good equine friend, and personable to anyone he meets!

He prefers to live outside 24/7, but tolerates a stall for short periods if he is near a friend. Brayton has lived with mares and geldings in the past, but does best with either mares, or geldings, not both.

Brayton does have mild navicular in one foot, and we tried putting shoes with a wedge to see if he was more comfortable. He is serviceably sound as a pasture companion, but has proved to be inconsistent in soundness as a riding horse.

He is up to date on all of his vet and farrier care. All that is left for Brayton is to find the most perfect forever home!

CLASSY
Breed:  Quarter Horse          Sex: Mare          Age: 15          Height: 15.1hh          Color: Dun
Adoption Fee: $350

Meet Classy, the resilient and beautiful dun mare who has captured our hearts! Classy came to us when she was underweight, but with lots of love and care, she’s now at a healthy weight and glowing with vitality.

Classy is a true trooper, but she does have some special considerations. She has heaves, which means she might experience occasional flare-ups, especially during hot and humid weather. With the right management and eating soaked hay cubes, as her main forage source, she does well.

In addition, Classy has mild navicular and a touch of arthritis, which makes her best suited to be a companion to other equine friends. She can be boss mare in pasture settings but once the hierarchy is established, the drama settles down. She has amazing ground manners & shows us she knows showmanship cues. We think she would excel in in-hand handling to increase the human equine bond.

Classy’s journey to recovery has been inspiring, and we believe she deserves a loving home where she can thrive as a cherished member of a horse family. If you have room in your heart and barn for this special mare, she’s ready to fill your life with warmth and gratitude. Come meet Classy and be a part of her second chance at a joyful life!

Adoption Fee: $350

Dani is up to date on all her medical and farrier needs.

At this time she is only being offered as a companion.

FRISCO
Breed:  Grade          Sex: Mare          Age: 28          Height: 15.0hh          Color: Black
Adoption Fee: $350

Frisco's journey has led her to a point where she's longing for the perfect place to belong. Having spent several years in solitude, she cherishes the idea of being part of a herd once again. It's in her nature to form incredibly close bonds with her pasture mates, and she dreams of a home where she can live among many friends, basking in the joy of companionship.

When it comes to routine care, Frisco is a breeze for the vet and farrier, as long as her best buddy is nearby to offer moral support. Her loyalty to her pasture mate is truly heartwarming. However, outside the pasture, she can display some strength, which is why an intermediate to advanced handler would be the ideal match for her.

Beyond her strength, Frisco is a delightful and affectionate mare with a heart of gold. She welcomes visitors to her pasture with grace and enjoys the company of those who appreciate her gentle nature. Grooming sessions with Frisco are not just a task but a bonding experience, as she relishes the attention and care.

If you're an experienced horse enthusiast seeking a loving companion who thrives in a herd and can be your loyal friend, Frisco might just be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet this stunning mare and discover the beauty of her spirit firsthand. Frisco is ready to find the loving home she so rightfully deserves.

Now, we’re on the lookout for the perfect retirement home for Icon, with experienced and kind horse people, who will continue to remind him how to be a good equine citizen and where he can be a cherished companion to other horses. Out in the pasture he is a wonderful buddy and loves to play halter tag with his friends. He is happy with 24/7 turn out but he is also fine in a stall.

Come meet him, and you’ll see the incredible transformation he’s undergone and the bright future he’s ready to embrace alongside his new companions.

KATIE
Breed:  Standardbred          Sex: Mare          Age: 23          Height: 15.2hh          Color: Black
Adoption Fee: $350

She arrived with 4 other horses, already a survivor as many animals on the property had lost their lives before help arrived. We would lose 2 more of them in the months to come.

A Stoic, Shut Down, Starving Senior mare…and pregnant. With a body condition score of 2.5/9 and a lack of light & life in her eyes… to say we worried was an understatement… but we wrapped the power of Horses' Haven around her, food, medical care and love.

Slowly, the light came back into her eyes, and her body added some much-needed weight. And then tragedy struck, we lost her friend Lisa and foal - approximately 9 months into her pregnancy. Lisa had been the younger, and seemingly healthier, of the two mares. Our hearts aching, we worried even more about Katie.

One evening in April… she waited until the team was out on the farm feeding dinner, and quickly and uneventfully delivered a healthy, miracle baby boy! We were overjoyed!

Katie has been the best of mamas, allowing him to develop into the confident foal we know and love. But now, on the cusp of Finnegan leaving we are telling her story- and asking all of you to join us in finding her forever home. Every horse has a special place in our heart, but Katie is so deeply in ours that finding her a special retirement home will be so good for our souls.

Katie is a 23 year old Standardbred mare, standing about 15.2hh, with excellent manners, but would likely do best pastured with only mares.

Her adoption fee will be waived to the perfect home.

With her sweet “hello” nickers and her soft eyes - Katie will capture your heart like she has all of ours.

KYLIE
Breed:  Grade          Sex: Mare          Age: 24          Height: 15.1hh          Color: Chestnut
Adoption Fee: $350

Kylie is a sweet mare that has been with us for a little over a year. We have been slowly getting to know her and making sure her health is in order. She has enjoyed the company of other mares while with us, but can get rather attatched if her best gal pals have to leave. She does have some navicular changes but has been pasture sound with out needing shoes.

Kylie does have cushings and requires prescend daily. As far as food goes, she is a very easy keeper and could actually stand to lose a few pounds! She enjoys being groomed and going for in hand walks. She is up to date on all of her medical/dental/farrier needs, all that is left is for Kylie to meet her new forever family!
